I have tried with both disks, it even freezes without either disk connected Perhaps something is wrong with the usb? In reply to Calleby's post on December 2, Thank you for getting back to us. Get back to us if you need further assistance. In reply to Arjay Dom's post on December 4, No luck with another usb either, i even tried creating the drive from another computer I also tried another motherboard ASRock AB K4 , same issue it just resets instead of freezing I am starting to suspect a CPU issue as i brought it used..

In reply to Calleby's post on December 7, Hi, Exactly what is happening It is a VERY bad idea to mix different memory of different brands and speeds I'm guessing you have 4 memory slots Are you using slot 1 with a single stick?

If that doesn't work, try slot In reply to slance's post on December 7, No bent CPU pins i can see I am grateful for any other ideas! In reply to Calleby's post on December 8, Hopefully you are not using one of the new Insider Builds They have issues Might try that first In reply to slance's post on December 8, Privacy policy. Im assuming use the first, uefi windows correct? Posted 17 August - PM Sorry for the constant replies from myself in my own thread. I tried to do the power on, restart, f11, selected uefi kdi windows 10 partion 1. It installed, and as per usual, froze during the restart where it tries to bring up the screen where I selected the country I live in. Its just so odd to me that on safe mode, I can get to those screens, and fill out the info, let it sit on those screens for hours, no freezes.

Without safemode, it freezes within minutes. I set it up to run 15 times. No problems detected yet. Edited by flabum, 17 August - PM. Tried using that as well. Same issue. Ill try to buy another usb to install windows on it myself, idk if thats an Issue. All I can think is that if that is the issue then maybe both the usb and dvd are so old they dont support the newer pieces I have. Didnt know I could edit my posts. Sorry for the multiple posts everyone.

So Ive never had to make my own usb to install. Can someone give me a walkthrough on how to update my bios with usb and or how to create a usb that can install windows on an empty hard drive. Just noticed bios had csm selected instead of UEFI. Enabled uefi. Giving another go around. Reply to quoted posts Clear.

I don't know if you are aware of the fact that newer motherboards can use two different types of BIOS UEFI and Legacy You might try opening Boot Options at the manufacturer's screen with F9, F11, F12, or whatever your machines uses and select your flash drive from there It is possible that your machine will automatically switch from UEFI to Legacy, or vice versa, depending on the selection of the installation media, but maybe not It is also possible that your CPU or motherboard has a bent pin or two causing a problem That has happened to me before more than once Even with new stuff..

It gets through POST just fine and I can navigate uefi, the problem occurs right after the first Windows logo when i try to boot from the USB, where it either freezes Asus or repeatedly restarts ASRock depending on which motherboard i use.

I am not mixing the ram, but testning them apart. You want to pick the options Not download for the machine in use I know the previous owner ran it with an overclock. It my be having a problem addressing the memory for instance That is a tough one to diagnose without a spare CPU I know you have said that you reset the CMOS If you have made memory changes since then, you might want to do it again When I decided to put the original back in and save the newer for spare, I encountered problems similar to what you are describing..

Something else I just thought of Make sure there is not any thermal paste on the CPU's connectors Another possibility is that your Power Supply is of insufficient capacity or has a bad connection If this is being used on both MBs anyway Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community.
